CSI Financial Services: Application Development Manager - Enterprise Information
The Development Manager candidate must be a strong application developer who is willing to develop quality code in addition to building and leading a high-producing team of developers. The candidate is an experienced professional with the ability to interface with customers on a pre-sales and support basis. This candidate is a self-motivated technologist with a passion for innovation and the ability to contribute to the growth of a start-up company. This position will report directly to the Executive Vice President of CSI Financial Services and is based in New York. The candidate may have the opportunity to initially work remotely (from home), though he or she may eventually report to a customer or CSI site in New York City. Skill and experience requirements are as follows:
- Ensure that the CSI Financial Services development environment operates under the standards and methodologies established for CSI overall.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience performing application development in the Financial Services Industry.
- A minimum of a BA in computer science or related discipline.
- A deep understanding of Market Data technology and products including high-throughput, low-latency data processing software.
- Experience working with Market Data providers such as Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters and IDC.
- An expert understanding of how to build and maintain Feedhandlers.
- Experience writing technical documentation such as white papers, statements of work (SOW), story notes, blogs and other application development related writing.
- Provide accurate updates and make recommendations on technology to CSI management.
- Recruit and lead a team of developers (understanding that the team will grow over time).
- Familiarity with agile software development practices.
- Understanding of Ruby on Rails.
- Understanding of Java.
