QM for SIG Documentation

Roles, Users and Domains

Roles, Users and Domains

In order to access QM for SIG, user accounts and roles must be created. A role is a set of permissions that may be applied to one or more users. A user account consists of a username and password that are used as credentials for accessing QM for SIG. Upon installation, there is only one user account and one role setup. The user is admin with the password admin, and the role is administrators. This account has global permissions for setting up new users. Be sure to change the admin password promptly.

The QM for SIG Network Edition introduces the concept of domains.  Domains in QM for SIG allow an outsourcing organization to support multiple service providers and their SIG responses in a single, shared QM for SIG system, or allows a service provider to support multiple outsourcing organizations that will evaluate their SIG responses in a single, shared QM for SIG system. You could also use it within a single organization to separate different divisions, locations or functions.

In addition, the administrator function is now provided at two levels, global administrators and domain administrators.  One or more users can be defined as a global administrator.  A global administrator can create domains and then create or update users to be domain administrators.  A domain administrator can:
