Through its easy to use tabbed interface, the user can enter demographic, clinical, laboratory, epidemiological and investigation information as part of a case. Notes and tasks can be added, including repeating tasks to be completed by the user or by others. In addition, files can be attached to a case. An existing case can be copied with options on how much to copy. Cases can be routed to a queue or an individual. As the case proceeds, CSI TriSano® supports the addition of repeat encounter information and provides longitudinal functionality for managing long term diseases. The flexible CSI TriSano® Form Builder can be used to gather additional information throughout the investigation of the case.
With CSI TriSano® 2.0, a user can use geocoding to look up and update a patient's address, update the longitude and latitude coordinates of that address, and display a map of the address.
CSI TriSano®'s Smart Search technology can be used to find contacts already in the system. Like case management, notes and tasks can be added to a contact, including repeating tasks to be completed by the user or by others. In addition files can be attached to a contact. Contacts can be routed to a queue or an individual. The Form Builder can be used to add questions to further the investigation. If it is needed, a contact can be elevated to a CMR while still remaining as a contact of the original patient.
With CSI TriSano® 2.0, a user can use geocoding to look up and update a contact's address, update the longitude and latitude coordinates of that address, and display a map of the address.
Each place can be updated with additional information, including questions added through the Form Builder.
With CSI TriSano® 2.0, a user can use geocoding to look up and update a place's address, update the longitude and latitude coordinates of that address, and display a map of the address.
Each encounter includes the name of the public health official, the location, date and a description. In addition, each encounter can be updated with additional clinical, laboratory and investigative information, including questions added through the Form Builder.
The Form Builder can be extremely useful during a disease outbreak, such as the recent H1N1 influenza virus. It allows public health professionals to respond quickly to emerging or changing health events through the creation of customized forms. The Form Builder lets you capture additional information for each of the different event types maintained in CSI TriSano®, including:
Cases, also known as confidential morbidity reports (CMRs)
Contact events
Encounter events
Place Exposure events
With CSI TriSano®, lab reports in HL7 format are first viewed in a staging area. The user can either update an existing event with the lab results, create a new event with the lab results, or discard the lab results. In addition, the system supports the management of LOINC and SNOMED codes for laboratory and clinical observations and tests.
Using this capability, you can geocode and verify addresses for patients, contacts and places. You can then map any of these addresses. In addition, you can map a patient and all their contacts or the results of an event search using the very powerful search capabilities in CSI TriSano®. CSI TriSano® also allows you to store the latitude and longitude coordinates of the address in the transaction database and export this information to the data warehouse, or in CSV format, for further analysis.
Data is extracted, including disease specific information created using the Form Builder, at user-defined intervals, transformed for ease of access, and loaded into the data warehouse.
CSI TriSano® includes the following Analysis, Visualization and Reporting capabilities through the embedding of Pentaho Enterprise Edition 3.0.
The results of the search can be exported to a spreadsheet or other tool for further analysis. The user can customize the export to include only the data needed for analysis.
In addition to exporting for analysis and verification, the CSI TriSano® administration facility provides support for configuring and running CDC exports.
